Founder Sean Cook launched Tea after witnessing his mother’s terrifying experience with online dating—not only being catfished but unknowingly engaging with men who had criminal records.

Determined to make an impact, he self-funded Tea, knowing it had the potential to disrupt an industry riddled with unsafe practices. But he wasn’t done yet. To take Tea to the next level, he needed the right leader to partner with.
One day while scrolling, Sean discovered Daniella Your BFF, a viral Instagram creator with over 6 million women engaging with her content monthly. Known for her relatable dating stories, and girl-talk advice, Daniella had built a trustworthy and devoted community of women —and Sean knew she was the perfect partner to expand Tea’s mission and vision.


The moment Daniella learned how Tea was helping to protect hundreds of thousands of women across the US, she was all in.
As CFO (Chief Female Officer), Daniella has played a pivotal role in Tea’s explosive virality on social media, showcasing how Tea is the go-to resource for women who want to date smarter. Together, Sean and Daniella have transformed Tea into more than an app—it’s a movement.
Tea is on a mission to revolutionize dating safety by equipping women with cutting-edge tools, real-time insights, and a powerful community to navigate the modern dating world with confidence and control.
